I am having a variation on the weekend. For today, it is kettlebell and boxing. Tomorrow it is Elliptical and skips rope. I am definitely doing *[the] the boxing routine tomorrow.
* I need to sharpen my fighting skills and develop my explosive moves. Definitely, the weekends are the best to train for boxing. My form is out of shape.
When I practice boxing, I feel like fighting. A more appropriate term is I feel like a fighter. I need to sharpen my killer instinct.
The feeling of a fighter is very satisfying. When you are in a fight, expect to win or lose. The worst is when both lose. There is no such thing as a Win-Win in a fight.
So what does it take to be a warrior?
Contrary to popular belief, the first lesson in Martial Art is to avoid. That's why when you watch martial movies, the hero doesn't attack first. Very rare does the hero make the first move. After all, it is self-defense, not self-offense.
In a real fight, the contact time is very brief. There are no fancy moves. All those footwork are redundant. I say the best is Brazilian Jujitsu. That is if you want to apply grappling techniques on a one-to-one basis. Otherwise, I personally think that Muay Thai is the best one-to-many fighting skill.
